The float type decanter consists of a float,a water inlet,a sliding rod frame,an outlet hose,an outlet bamboo joint,and other components.It does not require power and floats on the water surface during the inlet and sedimentation stages,in a standby state.The clear water accumulated in the outer outlet hose forms a water seal to prevent dirty water from entering.Decanting begins,the drainage valve opens,and the supernatant in the pool is discharged.As the water level drops,the float slowly slides down in the guide rod of the bracket.When the water level drops to a low level,the drainage valve is closed,and the drainage ends.

The decanter is mainly divided into three parts:the drainage short pipe,the U-shaped pipe section,and the drainage main pipe.
(1)Drainage short pipe:The siphon type decanter is composed of a series of drainage short pipes that are collected together,with the lower outlet below the low level of the decanting water and the upper end connected to a horizontal weir arm.The number of short drainage pipes should be sufficient and evenly distributed on the surface of the SBR reaction tank to reduce the inlet flow rate,ensure uniform drainage,and prevent agitation and sedimentation.
(2)U-shaped tube section:The U-shaped tube is partially filled with water,forming a water seal.One side of the U-shaped pipe is connected to the horizontal weir arm,and the other side is connected to the outlet pipe.The U-shaped pipe is connected to the outlet pipe with an overflow pipe,and a vent pipe is installed on the side connected to the horizontal weir arm.The vent pipe is equipped with a valve,and the opening and closing of the valve is used to form or break the siphon state.
(3)Drainage main:connected horizontally with U-shaped pipes,it can be placed inside or outside the pool.The main pipe is generally 10 cm below the low water level.
The siphon type decanter automatically drains the supernatant from the SBR reaction tank in a siphon manner.When drainage is required,the solenoid valve is opened to release the air accumulated in the upper part of the pipe.The solenoid valve is closed to form a siphon and automatically drains until the vacuum is broken.The drainage is stopped and the next cycle is waited for.
Additional knowledge point:Siphon principle is a fluid mechanics phenomenon that can suction liquid without the help of a pump.After filling a inverted U-shaped tubular structure(called a siphon)with liquid at a higher position,it opens at a lower position.Under this structure,the pressure difference between the liquid at both ends of the pipe can push the liquid over the high point and discharge towards the other end.It is mainly due to the gravitational force that makes the siphon tube work.
